Drugs worth over K1069.94 billion seized over 11 months

Home Affairs Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut said there were 6,276 drug seizures worth over K1,069.94 billion during 11 months of 2022 at the meeting of the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control 1/2022 at the hall of Myanmar Police Force in Nay Pyi Taw on 14 December.
In 2022, there were 6,276 cases of drug seizures of over 1.1 tonnes of raw opium, over 1.32 tonnes of opium, over 16 4.87 million stimulant tablets, over 21.75 tonnes of Ice (methamphetamine), over 2.04 tonnes of ketamine including other drugs and chemicals which are used in making of drugs.
As a result of drug control operations, the number of captures has increased every year and special operations are carried out 37 times in 2022.
There were 26 drug-related cases transferred to the Financial Intelligence Units in 2022 and 29 cases were transferred in 2021. — TWA/MKKS
