Elementary schools reopen in Lashio after cancellation of stay-at-home restriction

Basic education schools were reopened on 30 November after being cancelled from the stay-at-home programme on 25 November in Lashio, northern Shan State.
“Lashio has been cancelled from the stay-at-home programme since 25 November. In order to reopen the schools, spraying and prevention measures against the COVID-19 disease have been prepared.
The basic education schools were reopened on 30 November with the permission of the Shan State government. In Lashio, a total of 39 schools, including high schools, middle schools and primary schools, has reopened.
The remaining regional schools are scheduled to open from 1 December. We are also working with the authorities to ensure the safety and health of the students, said U Chit Than Nyunt, a township education officer.
It is reported that the basic education schools are reopened with the permission of the Shan State government keeping in line with COVID-19 precautionary guidelines. — Sai Aung Kyaw Soe/GNLM
