Misinformation is circulating that security forces entered Hmawnigon village in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, firing small arms and heavy weapons and setting houses ablaze. It has been discovered that DVB, the malicious news media outlet, is circulating inaccurate information.
The actual incident was that security forces tasked with maintaining peace and security in Madaya Township were attacked by PDF terrorists near the village of Hmawnigon. Ground reports and statements from security officials indicate that, during their retreat, the attackers set fire to houses in the village. Reports suggest that security forces collaborate with the public to ensure the area’s security and community peace. However, malicious news media is spreading news to conceal the terrorist acts of insurgents and misrepresent the efforts of the security forces. — MNA/KZW
