Fire at MPT telecom exchange interrupts phone lines, internet connection

A fire broke out at the MPT telecom exchange office in Mayangon Township, interrupting MPT calls, MPT data and wifi.
Fire engines from the headquarters of the Myanmar Fire Service Department and the Mayangon Station managed to extinguish the fire at 10:45 am according to the Myanmar Fire Service Department.
The MPT call centre with services from MPT, fibre internet, mobile internet and telecommunications is currently experiencing difficulties. Officials of the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications will make repairs as soon as possible so that communication can be restored to normal. If there is any change regarding the conditions of the communication network, the public will be informed about it, said MPT. — TWA/KZW
