Fire erupts at Hteinbin Landfill Site in Hlinethaya Township

According to the Fire Services Department, a fire broke out in the Hteinbin landfill site in Hlinethaya Township, Yangon. The fire started at 12:29 pm on 23 January and was extinguished by 12:58 pm.
Two fire engines and two water bowsers from the Hlinethaya township fire station, one water bowser from the Northern District fire station, and two water bowsers from the Shwelinpan fire station reportedly participated in the firefighting efforts.
In April 2018, the Hteinbin landfill site was engulfed in flames for five days, leading to the unfortunate death of four individuals with comorbid conditions due to fire smoke. — TWA/TRKM
