Flights to Kawthoung, Kalay resume under MoH guidelines

Flights for Yangon-Kawthoung and Yangon- Kalay routes, which was temporarily suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19 disease, resumed yesterday under the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, according to the Myanmar National Airlines, the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Amid the spread of COVID-19 Delta Variant in Thailand and India, which border Kawthoung and Kalay respectively, the flights were suspended in June this year. As the Ministry of Health has finally lifted the suspension, flights to Kawthoung and Kalay from Yangon are running at the same rates as before to make it easier for locals to travel, according to the Chief Executive Officer of Myanmar National Airlines.
Travellers are required to follow the guidelines, rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Health, by providing a COVID-19 disease- free certificate of RT-PCR of RDT test kit at the places designated by the Ministry of Health within 36 hours prior to departure, and by wearing face shields and masks.
It is reported that the flights to Kawthoung and Kalay are operated by Embraer 190 and ATR 72-600 aircrafts, and the tickets can be purchased at www.flymya.com by Credit Card, Debit Card, MPU card, or at the counter by using mobile banking or i-banking wallet in Kyat. Ticket prices are K 108,000 for Yangon-Kalay; K 113,00 for Kalay-Yangon; K 93,000 for Yangon – Kawthoung; K 91,000 for Kawthoung-Yangon.
