The ceremony to provide foodstuffs and school supplies to temporarily displaced persons in progress yesterday in Kayah State.

The Kayah State government provided foodstuffs and school supplies to temporarily displaced people in Kayah State at a ceremony held at the State Hall in Loikaw Township yesterday.
Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin first underscored the implementation of the state government in the agriculture and livestock breeding sectors for the socioeconomic development of the local people, the necessary peaceful settlement for bringing peace to the state and the need for public participation in these efforts.
Afterwards, Eastern Command Commander Maj-Gen Hla Moe clarified the resettlement issues in the state and the Kayah State chief minister, the Eastern Command commander and responsible officials provided cash assistance, foodstuffs and school supplies to the representatives of relevant temporary shelter camps.
It was the sixth time that the Kayah State government provided foodstuffs totalling over K111.9 million worth of foodstuffs to 12.620 temporarily displaced persons, in temporary shelter camps in Loikaw Township. — MNA/MKKS
