Gala Dhamma ceremony marks Buddha Day on full moon of Kason 1386 ME

Sitagu Sayadaw gives the Vice-Senior General a certificate of honour.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended the Dhamma ceremony to mark the Buddha Day which falls on full moon of Kason 1386 ME at Agga Dipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.
Also present at the ceremony were SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the secretary and wife, council members and their wives, union-level dignitaries, union ministers and their wives and officials as well as members of religious associations.
On the occasion, the Vice- Senior General and his wife and congregation took the Eight Precepts from State Ovadacariya Shwegyin Nikaya Chairman 16th Sangharaja of Shwegyin Nikaya Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Agga Pandita Maha Dhammakathika Bahujana Hitadhara Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara and listened to the sermon on Buddha Day of Kason full moon.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win donated cash for the Dhamma ceremony through Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. Sitagu Sayadaw presented a certificate of honour to the Vice-Senior General.
They all listened to a sermon delivered by Sitagu Sayadaw and shared merits gains for all donations. — MNA/TTA
