Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered day meals to members of the Sangha who attended the ceremony of marking the Buddha Day on the Full Moon Day of Kason 2024 at Agga Dipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Before the ceremony, the Senior General offered alms into the emerald alms bowl, fruits, flowers, water, and joss sticks to Maravijaya Naungdawgyi Buddha Image in the Beikman.
The Senior General, wife and congregation took the Eight Precepts from Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Thanlyin Minkyaung Monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima.
The Senior General and wife offered alms to the Chairman Sayadaw, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe to the Secretary Sayadaw, the SAC Secretary and his wife, the Joint Secretary and his wife, council members and their wives and officials to the Uppatasanti Pagoda Ovadacariya Sayadaw Lewe Paukmyaing Monastery Presiding Nayaka Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddata Janinda, Presiding Nayaka of Tatkon Maha Thihanada Monastery Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Acinda and members of the Sangha.
The Secretary Sayadaw, Presiding Patron of Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery of Mandalay, delivered a sermon, followed by a sharing of merits.
After the ceremony, the Senior General, his wife and congregation also offered day meals to members of the Sangha led by Chairman Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa. — MNA/TTA
