“Hlapa Thayar Pyi Myanmar” colour photo competition award-giving ceremony held

The award-giving ceremony of the “Hlapa Thayar Pyi Myanmar” (Beautiful and Pleasant Myanmar) colour photo contest marking Diamond Jubilee Independence Day was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
It was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Deputy Ministers Daw Than Than Linn, U Ye Tint, U Zaw Win and Dr Soe Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe, Permanent Secretaries, departmental heads, panels of judges and winners.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said the photo competition was organized to expose the essence of independence. A total of 199 contestants participated in the contest with 751 entry photos. The photos are historic records as well as art. The people would have the desire to appreciate the independence and sovereignty and be proud of their country through the photos.
The judges selected the best photos in line with the judging criteria and the prize-winning photos will be exhibited in good activities for the country and the public.
The officials then gave prizes to the winners and the first-prize winner U Sai Tun Nay Hlaing expressed words of thanks on behalf of the recipients.
Afterwards, they took a documentary group photo.
The Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and officials viewed the award-winning photos and displayed photos at the event. — MNA/KTZH
