Hotels & Tourism Ministry takes steps to re-open hotels in PyinOoLwin

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn has called on hospitality associations and businesses to cooperate with the ministry with full trust and understanding as the ministry is planning to speed up the recovery of hotels and tourism sector.

He made the remark at the coordination meeting with personnel from the hospitality sector in PyinOoLwin, Mandalay Region, on 6 March.
In his remarks, the Union Minister said the meeting was a part of his tour of the Mandalay Region to speed up efforts for recovery of the hospitality sector which needs to be remedied urgently.

He also stressed the importance of enforcing the health guidelines and rules released by the Ministry of Health and Sports when the hotels reopened.
The Union Minister has also stressed the need to explore new destinations and to upgrade the existing ones.
As a multiplier effect, the impacts from the tourism sector this fall has hit other related sectors such as restaurants, tourist guides, transportation and shops.

Following the meeting, the Union Minister visited the museums housing fossils, orchids and butterflies in the Kandawgyi National Botanical Garden.
During his tour of inspection, the Union Minister inspected the Hotel PyinOoLwin which will open in line with the COVID-19 health guidelines soon. — MNA
