Illegal drugs worth over K1 billion seized in Mohnyin, Kachin state

Heroin and stimulant tablets worth over K1 billion were seized in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, on 16 May, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team consisting of security personnel searched a six-wheel vehicle at the Nantsiaung combined checkpoint on the Mandalay-Myitkyina Road, in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, and found and seized 26.4 kilogrammes of heroin and 342,000 stimulant tablets from the vehicle.
According to the investigation, the seized illegal drugs were transported from Mandalay to Kachin State. The driver was prosecuted under the law, and the police are investigating to take action against the related suspects. — MNA
