A combined team under the supervision of Mandalay Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force confiscated two kinds of goods (worth K8.424 million) including 185 electric sprays that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a Hino truck (estimated value of K39 million) heading to Mandalay from Bhamo at the Letpanhla-Singu temporary checkpoint on 21 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Additionally, the on-duty teams under the management of the Customs Department nabbed a Nissan Condor truck (estimated value of K25 million) carrying two kinds of goods (worth K4.1 million) including 1,000 pairs of child footwear that were not declared in the ID travelling from Myawady to Yangon at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint, 70,300 kilogrammes of HDPE plastic sheet (worth K171,250,800) that were different from ID from two containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port and three kinds of item (worth K32 million) including 1,200 kilogrammes of Duolist automotive paint that were not declared in the ID from a container at the Hteedan Port. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Similarly, a combined team conducted inspections and captured an unregistered Pleasure 110 motorbike (worth K400,000) in Tamu township and an unregistered Yamaha 125 motorbike (estimated value of K700,000), an unregistered Kenbo 125 (approximately K200,000) and an unregistered Triplecrown vehicle (estimated value of K6 million) in Homalin township. The action was taken under the Myanmar Export and Import Law.
As a result, a total of 12 arrests were made on 21 June, with an estimated value of K287,574,800, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
