Confiscated illegal items in different states and regions.

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, legal action is being taken against illicit trading nationwide.
During inspections on 17 and 18 May, a combined team overseen by the Customs Department seized 53,762.08 kilogrammes of PVC-coated copper wire from India, differing from the Import Declaration (ID), and four sets of Hua Du plane cutting machines from China without an Import Licence. These were valued at K310.34 million and were found in five containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint. Additionally, at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint, a Mitsubishi Fuso truck (approximately worth K40 million) travelling from Hpa-an to Yangon was intercepted. It was carrying 140 Crazy bicycles from China worth K16.8 million, which were not declared in the ID. These enforcement actions were conducted in accordance with Customs procedures.
In Pathein and Hinthada Districts, a total of 8.475 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K3.823 million was seized, and action was taken under the Forest Law.
On 19 May, on-duty teams impounded a Jin Bei mini-bus (estimated value of K37 million) travelling from Kyaukme to Mandalay, carrying four types of goods worth K10.46 million. These included 950 safety helmets from China without official documents at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint. At the Shwegyin checkpoint, a Yutong bus (estimated value of K45 million) travelling from Myitkyina to Mandalay was stopped. It was carrying nine types of goods worth K22.579 million, including 555 kilogrammes of disposable plastic boxes from China without official documents. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported ten arrests were made on 17, 18, and 19 May, with an estimated value of K486 million. — MNA/MKKS
