Illegal goods seized in various states/regions

Supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation.
During inspections on 21 and 23 May, the combined team supervised by the Nay Pyi Taw Council Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force nabbed illegal teak weighing 2.588 tonnes and illegal timbers weighing 0.471 tonne worth K1,482,603. This enforcement was carried out under the Forest Law.
On 22 May, the on-duty teams under the Mandalay Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force confiscated an Isuzu light truck (worth approximately K25 million) carrying 2,460 kilogrammes of beads (supposed to be made of jade) and 200 kilogrammes of jade blocks of various sizes valued at K96.1 million without official documents at the 6th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint, a Toyota Crown (estimated value of K30 million) carrying 98 kilogrammes of beads (supposed to be made of jade) worth K3.43 million without official documents near Pyinsa village in PyinOoLwin township, a Howo tractor head with a trailer (worth approximately K101 million) carrying 10,000 kilogrammes of galvanized iron pipe from China without official documents at the Kywetetson checkpoint and two vehicles (estimated value of K46 million) carrying 1,000 bags of IFFCO fertilizer from India worth K30 million without official documents at the Yadanabon Bridge (Mandalay) combined checkpoint. The action was conducted under Customs procedures.
On 23 May, the combined team captured illegal timbers weighing 0.791 tonne worth K189,840 in Toungoo district. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that 13 arrests were made on 21, 22 and 23 May, with an estimated value of K354 million. — MNA/MKKS
