Seized illegal item.

Supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation. The combined teams under the Customs Department seized K312,117,015 worth of illegal items in eight containers that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) containing a China-made pipe-making machine, textile, Japan-made Pampers baby diaper at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and another one container at Thilawa container checkpoint containing China-made Padmonal. The action was taken under Customs Procedures.
On 1 May, K247,784,475 worth of fuel – 16,236 gallons of diesel and 4,695 gallons of petroleum and three Nissan Diesel tractor heads that carried illegal fuel amounting to K360,000,000, totalling K607,784,475, was seized at the Shwegyin combined inspection camp under the Mandalay Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force. The action was taken under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law.
On the same day, the Bago Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force seized 1.004 tonnes of illegal teak valued at K884,224. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, 11 arrests (estimated value of K920,785,714) were made on 30 April and 1 May, according to the committee. — MNA/KTZH
