Officials confiscate illegal teak door parts.

SUPERVISED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
An inspection team led by the Forest Department conducted inspections and captured 0.5194 tonne of illegal teak doors, window doors and parts of teak doors worth K342,804 and a vehicle (approximately K15,000,000), which carried these illegal items in Hmawby Township of Yangon Region on 3 June. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
Similarly, a team led by the Forest Department under the management of the Sagaing Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force confiscated 0.8002 tonne of illegal. In timber parts worth K80,020 in Tamu Township and action was taken under the Export/Import Law.
Thus, two arrests worth approximately K15,422,824 were made on 3 June, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
