Confiscated illegal goods in Yangon Region.

SUPERVISED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
On 13 October, a combined inspection team led by the Yangon Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force inspected a warehouse at the Hlinethaya Industrial Zone 3, according to information, and captured a total of 33.149 tonnes of edible oil worth K62,930,000 without official documents. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
On 14 October, an on-duty team under the management of the Customs Department conducted inspections at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint and confiscated K6,652,924 worth of clear float glasses that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a container. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
Similarly, the Myawady (OSS) Trade Zone nabbed K7,140,000 worth of 4,000 kilogrammes of galvanized steel pipes that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from a vehicle. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
On 15 October, Myanmar Police Force seized an unregistered ANBO motorbike (estimated value of K250,000) in Shwebo township and the action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
A combined inspection team confiscated 50 cartons of duty-free Benson cigarettes worth K50 million from a Nissan car (estimated value of K28 million) at the Kyeye Combined Checkpoint of Monywa township and the action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
Afterwards, a total of 39.9942 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K15,136,054 was captured in the Toungoo, Nyaunglebin and Thayawady districts and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, nine arrests (approximately K170,108,978) were made on three consecutive days from 13 to 15 October, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
