Illegal timbers, feedstuff, consumer goods, vehicles confiscated

Supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
An on-duty team under the supervision of the Customs Department seized 4,000 kilogrammes of animal feedstuff exceed the import declaration (ID) licences and 10,370 kilogrammes of detergent powder without ID from a vehicle worth estimated K62,070,800 on Myawady-Hpa-an-Yangon road on 2 November. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
Similarly, under the management of Shan State Anti-Illegal Task Force, a combined team at Naungnun check point in Kengtung Township confiscated 1,000 kilos of Thai-made snow towel, 200 cartons Imperial Leather soap cakes and a vehicle carrying that towel and soap cakes (estimated at K60.75 million) on 5 November. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
On 6 November, a total of 2.1890 tonnes of illegal sawn teak and ironwood worth K1,335,748 was captured in the Yenwe forest reserve of Nyaunglebin District and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, six arrests (estimated value of K124,156,548) were made on 2, 5 and 6 November, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
