Imports of anti-COVID-19 devices, medical products continue daily

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
On 8 September (yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment and medical products, including oxygen plants and concentrators, were imported by 15 companies and transported by vehicle, including two bowsers.
A total of 41 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by two bowsers, two oxygen storage containers, 3,506 empty oxygen cylinders, one oxygen plant, one oxygen generator, 1,608 oxygen concentrators for home use, 7,500 sets of test kits, 31,600 sets of PPE suits, and 33 tonnes of masks were imported via Muse, Chinshwehaw, Lwejel, Myawady and Tachilek trading posts and the Yangon International Airport.
Two vehicles carrying liquid oxygen were transported to Yangon and Monywa and one oxygen plant to Yangon, officials said.

It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importations of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
