Data provided by the Ministry of Commerce reveals that over US$3 billion was generated through the export of industrial finished products to foreign markets between April and July in the 2023–2024 financial year.
Within the category of exported finished industrial goods, state-owned exports contributed more than $1.1 billion, while private exports contributed over $1.9 billion, resulting in a total exceeding $3 billion.
Comparing this financial year’s export figures with the previous year, there has been a decrease of more than $600 million in the export of finished industrial goods, as last year’s total stood at over $3,700 million.
Among the various industrial end-products originating from Myanmar, the highest exports are attributed to CMP sewing and garment exports, followed by sugar, jewellery, and natural gas. Additionally, significant imports include investment goods, industrial raw materials, consumer goods, and construction materials. — TWA/CT
