K600 million worth of heroin seized in Hsenwi township

A total of 40.6 kilogrammes of heroin worth K600 million were seized in Hsenwi township of Shan State (North), Myanmar Police Force stated.
At 8 am on 17 July, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force examined a Crown car driven by Honglwan accompanied by Zaw Ga Rong heading from Lashio to Muse township, according to information, and captured a total of 40.6 kilogrammes of heroin worth K600 million at Yepu Permanent Checkpoint.
According to the investigation, Myanmar Police Force arrested a trafficker Yan Kyone Pyone (aka) Aung Kyaw Moe on the bypass road in Kaungmhulon Ward of Muse township at 4 pm.
According to the investigation, the suspects admitted the seized heroin to be carried from Kehsi township of Shan State (South) to Muse township of Shan State (North).
The suspects are prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and Police are investigating to arrest the rest in connection with the case, it is learnt. —MNA
