Myanmar’s Khin Cherry Thet won the gold medal in the women’s individual event of the Women & Junior Petanque World Championship 2023 held in Thailand.
Khin Cherry Thet won the gold medal by defeating the Vietnamese player in the final, Tunisian player in the quarterfinals, a Thai player in the semifinals.
Khin Cherry Thet won the gold medal this year after finishing third in the Petanque World Championship 2019. In addition, she won gold medals in the women’s individual event at the 31st SEA Games and 32nd SEA Games held in 2022 and 2023, respectively. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
