The Yangon-Mandalay detour and Zawgyi River bridge were constructed to reduce the traffic jam in Kyaukse Township of Mandalay Region. The construction was developed by Thaw Tar Win Company starting January 2018.
The company constructed the 7.82-mile-long Kyauske detour with 72 feet in width, including 35 Box Culverts under Department of Highway supervision using K14,200 million fund. K1860 million funds were expended for the six-lane Zawgyi bridge with 210 feet in length and 80 feet in width. Currently, the operations are nearly completed, according to the officials.
As the trucks, trailers and ferries of factories in Kyaukse Township use the roads of downtown areas, it often causes traffic jam and some road accidents. Therefore, the officials arranged to construct a bypass to reduce such difficulties and streamline the logistic processes.—Thet Maung (Kyaukse)/GNLM
