Land of Shwezigon Pagoda and guest house to be leased for long term by auction

The land belonging to Shwezigon Pagoda and the guest house will be leased for a long term by auction, according to the board of trustees of Shwezigon Pagoda.
Local entrepreneurs who are interested in selling food will be able to open souvenir shops, lodgings, and high-end restaurants in those areas that will be leased for a long duration.
Businesspeople who want to rent will be allowed five months free of charge as a preparation period from 1 March to 31 July, and they will rent with a five-year contract starting from 1 August. In addition, the guest house will be allowed free for three months from 1 March to 31 May as a preparation period and will be leased with a five-year contract from 1 June, according to the board of trustees.
Application forms will have to be sent in on 21 February at the latest. —TWA/KZW
