Local people get COVID-19 jabs in Pwintbyu Township

A local woman is receving anti-COVID-19 vaccine in Pwintbyu Township.

Local people who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 disease received COVID-19 vaccines in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region yesterday, according to the township General Administration Department.
The vaccines are being given to four prioritized groups starting from 9 am, officials said.
The COVID-19 vaccines were administered by health staff in four groups to prevent crowds under the leadership of the township administration body, officials said. A total of 201 people were vaccinated at the four vaccination sites yesterday, officials added.
Under the close supervision of U Aung Myat Khaing, Chairman of the Township Administration Body, staff from the Township General Administration Department, Township Fire Brigade and volunteer teams provided necessary assistance.
Ward and village Administrators in Pwintbyu Township are urging those who have not been vaccinated to get the vaccines according to the set schedules, officials said. To date, 2,745 people have been vaccinated in the township, according to Pwintbyu Township Administration Body Chairman U Aung Myat Khaing.—Ye Win Naing (Nyaung Oo)/GNLM
