Majority of townships across Yangon Region experience incidents of fallen trees

On the morning of 14 May, heavy rain and strong winds hit the majority of townships in Yangon region due as the speed of cyclone Mocha caused some road blockages with fallen trees. Clearing of debris was carried out according to the statements of the Myanmar Fire Brigade.
The trees falling processes happened at the corner of Zaygyi street and Bo Thura street, Panhlaing Street and Zaygyi west ward, Taw Win Street and Kayin Amyotha ward in Kyeemyindaing Township on 2:30 am on 14 May. Similarly, incidents of trees falling were reported in various locations, including Mayangon Township, K Ward of North Okkalapa Township and some streets in Seikkyi/Khanaungto Township.
Then, incidents occurred at the Tamway, Kamayut, Yankin, Mingaladon, Sangyoung, Thanlyin and Hlegu townships at 3:30 am and 6:15 am. The Myanmar Fire Brigade is currently providing assistance in removing fallen trees in the affected areas in many townships to prevent traffic congestion and mitigate any potential hazards that may arise in close proximity to residential areas. —TWA/KZW
