Malicious media spreads false claims of security forces burning Monywa village

Misinformation circulating on 2 January claims that security forces burned down Doewaingchaung village. It has been identified that the malicious news media, Khit Thit Media, is spreading this misinformation on social networking sites.
Regarding the news, as reported by security officials in the relevant areas on 2 January in Monywa Township, including Thanpinhla Village and Kalay Township, security forces visited the neighbouring villages of Doewaingchaung. It is confirmed that there is no security threat in the area.
Misinformation is being spread to mislead the local people regarding the efforts of security forces working to maintain peace and security in the area. This misinformation is reported to be circulated by media supporting terrorists. — MNA/KZW
