Media Development Department under MoI observes anniversary celebration

The anniversary ceremony of the Media Development Department of the Ministry of Information was held yesterday morning at the Assembly Hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw. Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, heads of departments, officers, and staff from the Department of Media Development attended.
In his opening speech, the Union Minister mentioned that it has been a year since the establishment of the Media Development Department, which aims to support the growth of the private media sector in Myanmar and make it a significant player in the nation-building process. The Department of Media Development should leverage AI technology and streaming technologies to engage with the public and entertain the people, in addition to fulfilling the Ministry of Information’s knowledge-sharing objectives. It is essential to align the media sector with evolving technology and connect with the international community in line with the changing times.
Then the Union Minister presented a certificate of honour to Daw Ohmma Yi, deputy staff officer of the Media Development Department, in recognition of her achievement as the best trainee award recipient at the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar) Junior Officer Course No 96.
To celebrate the anniversary of the Department of Media Development, employees received souvenirs through lucky draws. — MNA/KZW
