Men’s Sepak Takraw & Futsal tourneys hail 76th Anniversary of Independence Day conclude

Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Inter-Ministry Sepak Takraw Tournament to mark the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day 2024 took place at the Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium (C) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday attended by members of the State Administration Council.
Among the spectators were SAC members Porel Aung Thein and U Yan Kyaw, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan, deputy ministers, heads of departments, officials of the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation watched the Sepak Takraw events.
In the final match of Sepak Takraw event, the Ministry of Border Affairs team beat the Ministry of Home Affairs team 2-0 and secured the championship trophy. Officials presented medals and a trophy to the champion team and outstanding players in the Sepak Takraw Championships.
Then, SAC member U Yan Kyaw presented individual medals and cash awards to the second prize winning Ministry of Home Affairs team.
SAC member Porel Aung Thein also awarded a Championship trophy and cash award to first prize winning Ministry of Border Affairs team.
Similarly, the national futsal tournament final match was held at the Futsal Stadium in the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
In the competition, the Ministry of Planning and Finance and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement team played with the unanimous support of the fans.
The Men’s Futsal event followed and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement beat the Ministry of Planning and Finance 9-8 after a penalty shootout. Next, an awarding ceremony was held and officials presented trophies to the winners and also gave medals to the outstanding players.
Similarly, men’s and women’s events of football, volleyball, Sepak Takraw, futsal, and tug of war will continue today to mark the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day. — MNA/TS
