Mentally-ill patients from Wanatchaung take a vacation in Chaungthar

A local social association, Shwe Myittar, will organize Chaungthar vacation for patients, from Wanatchaung health care centre for helpless old people and people with mental illness, located in Yangon Region’s Hmawby township.

“We will organize a vacation for 15 mentally-ill patients, at different ages including homeless old people from Wanatchaung, to Chaungthar Beach. They are patients whose health has gradually improved. This is the first batch and will include total 18 persons including 2 staff from the mental health centre,” said the social association chair Daw Shwe Lae.

In addition to social and rescue works, Shwe Myittar free social association has provided helps in rescued snakes found in townships and release them to the nature and giving assistances to abandoned and helpless old people.

It has also given help and rescue to people who are suffering mental illness and straying on the street.

People can contact the association if they want to make donation for foods and medicine fund for helpless old people at Wanatchaung.
