Mini Gems Emporium 2021 continues for third day

The third day of the Mini Gems Emporium 2021 was held yesterday at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw in accordance with the COVID-19 preventive guidelines.
Starting in the morning, local and foreign jewellers were able to see the pearls and jade lots on display inside the Mani Yadana Jade Hall. They also enjoyed the jade lots on display outside the hall.
On the second day of the emporium, 220 lots of pearl were sold through open tender system. Yesterday, 220 lots of pearl were also sold through open tender system. After that, officials systematically opened the price invoices from Pearl lots from 221 to 330 and announced that 110 lots of pearl were sold.
Jade lots from 1 to 250 were then sold through open tender system, with jewellers inspecting the jade lots on display and placing bids in the tender boxes.
After that, the authorities closed the bidding for jade lots from 1 to 250 at 3 pm yesterday and will announce the jade lots for sale at 8 am on 20 December.
In the afternoon, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and Chairman of the Central Committee of Myanmar Gems Emporium U Khin Maung Yi, Deputy Minister U Min Min Oo and members of the Central Committee inspected the auction of pearl and jade lots on the ground floor of Mani Yadanar Jade Hall.
A total of 780 lots of jade were on display at the emporium. On 21 December, jade lots from 501 to 780 will be sold to local and foreign gem merchants through open tender.—Ye Naing Win/GNLM
