Ministry to provide best things if federations submit difficulties of athletes: MoSYA Union Minister

The MoSYA Union Minister holds talks with officials from Myanmar’s sports federations yesterday.

The ministry is working with the officials to facilitate the work of any federation. It will also provide the needed assistance as the presidents of sports federations can report on the difficulties of their athletes at any time, said Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan.
The Union Minister said that speech during the meeting with officials of Myanmar Sports Federations to grab achievements in the 31st SEA Games and award-giving ceremony to the medals winners of the 19th Asian Billiards Championship and 37th Asian Men’s Snooker Championship held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Union Minister also said that all must cooperate in developing the sports sectors while the presidents and vice-presidents of respective sports federations make efforts in accordance with the aims and objectives of the federations. It has already been ordered that the ministry staff work together to develop the country’s sports sector.
Myanmar will compete in 20 sports in the 31st SEA Games, and those who grab gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded K30 million, K20 million and K10 million.
He also highlighted the importance of teamwork in competitions, the need to apply the best abilities of athletes who represent the country to uplift the dignity of the country and the establishment of Youth Camp at Gold Camp to emerge qualified young athletes to participate in the 32nd SEA Games to be held in Cambodia.
He gave K1 million cash prizes each to Maung Pauksa, a joint third prize winner in the 19th Asian Billiards Championship and Maung Aung Phyo, a joint third prize winner in the 37th Asian Men’s Snooker Championship held in Qatar in March 2022 and concluded the event.
The 30th SEA Games was held in the Philippines in 2019, and 8,750 athletes from 11 countries took part in it. — Htun Htun/GNLM
