Malicious media outlets have been circulating false information on social media, claiming that the government has imposed a ban on Rakhine youths aged 18 to 35 travelling from Yangon to Rakhine State by flight, effective from 24 February.
A security official in Yangon Region clarified that there is no such ban in place and that the information being circulated is simply fake news.
Malicious media outlets are deliberately spreading false reports to instill fear in the public and undermine law and order. — MNA/NT
