MMPO donates to Shwedagon renovation on behalf of late musician Ywasa Sein Tin Han

MMPO donated eternity money to the Shwedagon Pagoda on behalf of the leader of Myanmar orchestra Sein Tin Han Sein Tin Han passed away on 17 May 2004.

According to U Aye Kyu Lay, vice-chairperson of the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO), the organization donated K500,000 towards the comprehensive renovation of the Shwedagon Pagoda on behalf of the late Ywasa Sein Tin Han, the leader and conductor of a Myanmar ensemble, on 5 February.
Ywasa Sein Tin Han was born to puppet actor U Phoe Thit and puppet actress Daw Mya Hmone on 11 July, 1932, in Soonlun village, Myingyan township, Mandalay Region. He relocated to Mandalay in 1942 and studied the art of Myanmar orchestra, eventually leading the orchestra of Alinka Kyawswa Sein Baydar in 1954.
He married Daw Sein Tin in 1961. He was known for his cultural articles, musical compositions, and contributions of short stories to magazines. He also penned the famous Myanmar song “Htanywet Badee”. He passed away on 17 May 2004. — ASH/ TRKM
