MoALI UM receives ambassadors of Russia, Egypt

On the morning of 18 January, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung met with Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov. In the afternoon, he met with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Myanmar Mrs Aya Saad Mohamed Abdelkarim.
During the meeting with the Russian Ambassador, discussions focused on coordinating the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in fisheries, implementing agreements from the third Russia-Myanmar trade and economic cooperation commission meeting, collaboration on priority activities related to food security between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, issues regarding the construction of an organic plant growth medicine factory in Myanmar, importing fertilizers from Russia that aligns with Myanmar’s water, land, climate and crop needs, and cooperating to explore market opportunities for Myanmar agricultural produce, including rice and pulses.
In the meeting with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Myanmar, discussions included sending trainees from Myanmar to attend the cotton cultivation and production technology course at the Egyptian International Centre for Agriculture (EICA), coordinating the signing of a new memorandum of understanding on agricultural sector, cooperation between the two countries, exchange of cotton varieties, technical cooperation in cotton and potato production, and addressing human resource development issues. — MNA/TKO
