MoALI Union Minister inspects fishery industry in Myeik

Union Minister U Min Naung observes the fishery industry and value-added aquatic production in Myeik.

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, U Min Naung, along with Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, regional government ministers, and departmental officials, conducted a field inspection tour of the fishery industry and value-added aquatic production in Myeik district.
During the inspection, the Union minister and his team visited the shrimp hatchery ponds operated by Pyi Phyo Tun International Company Limited. It was suggested that the company focus on farming and producing fish and shrimp rather than relying on capture.
Subsequently, they examined the installation of 3.77- megawatt solar panels for a floating solar system, a collaboration between Pyi Phyo Tun International Company Limited and Myanmar Solar Power Trading Company Limited.
Additionally, the team observed the harvesting and transportation process of 80-day-old shrimps to a cold storage plant, inspected RT-PCR laboratories, and observed soft crab farming activities.
The Union minister stressed the importance of adhering to overseas export standards, protecting the environment, and complying with current laws to promote the development of fish and shrimp farming production.
Furthermore, they assessed aquatic farming operations on Payee Island conducted by various companies.
In the evening, the Union minister convened a meeting with all staff at the office of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics in Myeik township. — MNA/TRKM
