MoBA Union Minister inspects reception centres, temporary shelters in Rakhine State

Accompanied by the chief minister of Rakhine State, the Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development Work Coordination Committee Chair Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Union ministers arrived in Taungpyoletwal Reception Centre on 7 February and visited the Myanmar-Bangladesh Friendship Bridge, where internally displaced persons from Rakhine State will be accepted when they return.
At the centre, the officer in charge explained arrangements being made to accept IDPs as per procedures and the completion of maintenance work with approved funds and work to be done.
For those who will re-enter, the Union minister then gave instructions on procedures such as household registration, obtaining biometric data and filling e-ID, issuing NVC cards, health conditions including Covid test, preparations for fire safety by the fire brigade and temporary accommodation in the camp.
On arriving at Ngakhuya Reception Centre, the Union ministers coordinated and implemented necessary actions based on the presentation of the officer in charge of the camp, and followed up and inspected the completion of the re-acceptance process. The Union ministers and party arrived at the Ngakhuya Basic Education High School and gave cash assistance for nutritious food to students.
After inspecting the Hlaphoekhaung Transit Centre in Maungtaw Township in the afternoon, the Union ministers and the state chief minister arrived in Yathedaung Township where Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung cordially greeted locals from the Zaytitaung temporary IDPs camp. — MNA/KZW
