The Ministry of Commerce announced on 16 February that Myanmar will implement HS 2022 Product Specific Rules according to the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA).
The statement unveiled that AANZFTA signatories discussed applicable products specified in the HS 2017 Version and updated to HS 2022 Version.
The updated specific product description is approved by the Free Trade Area Joint Committee on implementation and operation of the AANZFTA. Those 12 parties have agreed to be committed to the HS 2022 Product Specific Rule of Origins starting from 1 March 2024.
The Free Trade Agreement is an agreement between the ten-member states of ASEAN (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam), Australia and New Zealand. — NN/KK
