MoC Union Minister attends Voice of the South Summit virtually

Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo joins the online Voice of the South Summit organized by India on 12-13 January 2023.

Union Commerce Minister U Aung Naing Oo attended the Voice of the South Summit, a ministerial-level meeting on economy and trade, organized by the Republic of India in a virtual system yesterday evening.
The Union minister discussed that Myanmar and India are neighbouring countries and important trade partners in good relations. Among Myanmar’s 170 trade partner countries, India is the fourth-largest trading country.
He called for cooperation from other partner countries in the region to promote and strengthen trade and investment as well as to find good economic opportunities.
He also pointed out the exchange of views on ways to improve communications and promote tourism, agriculture and livestock farms for food security, technological cooperation in developing the transport sector and human resources between Myanmar and all the countries in the southern part of the world.
The meeting was held on 12 and 13 January, and Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Commerce from 25 countries attended the summit. —MNA/TS
