MoC Union minister holds discussion to boost trade volumes and expand exports

The Ministry of Commerce organized a coordination meeting (1st-day) with Myanmar Commercial Attaches serving in 13 foreign countries to boost trade volumes and expand exports yesterday.
During the meeting, Union Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint San underlined the need to analyze the advantages, disadvantages and market status in trade and investment sectors between the country and partner countries in order to ensure the market availability, market sustainability and emergence of new markets, cooperate with the respective governments and organizations for product quality and food safety.
He then pointed out the important role of commercial attaches as well as the trade and investment to develop the State economy.
Deputy Minister U Nyunt Aung also talked about the duties of commercial attaches to review their efforts in grabbing trade and investment opportunities for the country and ministry, effective activities and plans to cooperate with the respective governments as the country focuses on the increase of trade with China, Thailand and India.
Then, a total of eight commercial attaches working in the US, Brazil, China, Singapore and Thailand reported on the completed activities to boost the trade volumes and expand exports.
The second-day meeting with Myanmar commercial attaches from Korea, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Belgium, Germany and India, including world commercial attaches from Switzerland for global trade affairs will be convened today. — MNA
