School enrolment for the 2024-25 academic year at schools in Chanmyathazi, Mandalay, on 23 May.

The Ministry of Education has announced that enrolments for all classes, from Grade 1 to Grade 12, for the 2024-2025 academic year (AY) commenced on 23 May. Enrolment is open from 23 May to 2 June. On 3 June, universities, degree colleges, and basic education schools under the Ministry of Education, as well as universities and institutes under other ministries, will begin classes simultaneously.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education has urged parents and students to cooperate with school authorities and teachers on various matters, including drug prevention, alcohol, tobacco, and betel quid avoidance, traffic safety and regulations, and maintaining healthy lifestyles. There’s also an emphasis on combatting students’ addiction to gaming.
The statement advises students not to attend school if they have symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, or fever. Instead, they should seek medical attention from the nearest health clinic or hospital and collaborate with the school heads and teachers for treatment. Students are also instructed to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s regulations for preventing COVID-19 and cooperate with vaccination efforts against the disease. — TWA/TKO
