The Ministry of Energy (MOE) has announced that two million gallons of gasoline from the Thanbayakan petrochemical plants will be available for sale to private entrepreneurs through a tender system in June and July.
The Myanmar Petrochemical Enterprise under the Ministry of Energy will sell one million gallons on 4 June and another million gallons on 2 July, totalling two million gallons of gasoline.
Currently, the Ministry of Energy is exploring various methods to increase oil and natural gas production and to produce and utilise more value-added products such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Given the high demand for CNG and LPG as alternatives to diesel and gasoline, efforts are being made to meet this demand. — TWA/TKO
