Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo instructed district managers and engineers of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation to graciously answer the people’s questions and inform the people about the power distribution system.
He held a meeting with the district electrical managers and district electrical engineers to discuss the loss of electricity in power lines and transformers in the distribution system and the issue of electricity.
He said his ministry is making an effort to meet people’s electricity needs as much as possible, adding the need to expand load lines and substations with a full load, systematically manage the maintenance work of power lines and substations, and pay attention to reducing power loss. He also said that load balancing is being varied as the power capacity is lower than consumption.
He also stressed the need to do a regular reading of electricity meters and make the people access to the online billing system so that the bill payment can be accepted in a short time, quickly and conveniently.
Arrangements are being made to generate electricity from other sources to meet electricity consumption, and the main goal of the ministry is to generate and distribute electricity to the people with minimal loss of power and full voltage in a timely manner. He also urged attendees to work together for regular meter readings, meter distribution and electricity billing, including collecting previous electricity bills.
The meeting was also attended by Yangon Region Minister for Natural Resources U Zaw Win, Acting Chairman of the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation U Aung Kyaw Oo, officials from Office of the Union Minister, and departments. — MNA
