MoEP, MoST Union Ministers receive Russian delegation

Union Ministers U Thaung Han and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw hold talks with Deputy Director-General of Russian State Atomic-Energy Cooperation "Rosatom" Mr Nikolay Spassky at Yangon Technological University on 28 June.

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw received a delegation led by Deputy Director-General of Russian State Atomic Energy Cooperation “Rosatom” Mr Nikolay Spassky at the Yangon Technological University in Yangon yesterday.
During the meeting, the Rosatom handed over the feasibility study report for thermal power plant project, under MoU between MoEP and Rosatom inked in November 2022, to Ministry of Electric Power.
Then, the MoST signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of nuclear infrastructure assessment and enhancement with Rosatom.
During the meeting with officials of Rosatom, MoEP Union Minister expressed graduates for completion of feasibility study report on thermal power plant in time and belief to accomplish the work plans stated in Road Map.
He also talked about the MoUs for wind power projects made on 15 June during International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg and also said words of thanks for technical supports in generating power using hydropower and other sources.
Then, Deputy Director-General of Rosatom talked about the bilateral cooperation, future investment in thermal power plant projects and other projects and cooperation in conducting feasibility study on wind power projects under MoU.
The delegation led by Rosatom attended the dinner hosted by MoEP in the evening. — MNA/KTZH
