MoI holds ceremonies of 2023 monsoon tree-growing, releasing fingerlings

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and wife grew Mesua ferrea and Star-flower plants at the designated locations and Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, departmental heads and officials also planted teak, mahogany, star-flower and gum-kino at the respective sites at the 2023 monsoon tree-growing in the compound of MRTV in Tatkon yesterday.
At releasing fingerlings event held at fish farm No 1 of MRTV, the Union Minister and wife released the fingerlings.
Moreover, the Union Minister, wife and party inspected the breeding of 180 goats and monsoon mango plantation in MRTV compound.
A total of 2,025 plants—1,400 saplings and 625 Seintalone mango trees—were planted and 5,000 fingerlings were set free at the event.
At noon, the Union Minister presided over a meeting with officials of tinder winning companies for MRTV in 2023-2024 FY at the meeting hall of MRTV and discussed the measures to ensure timely import of quality materials. — MNA/KTZH
