MoHA Union Minister inspects Insein Prison where parcel bombs went off

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut inspected Insein Prison in Yangon Region together with relevant officials yesterday.
During the visit, the Union minister scrutinized the prison situation as the bombs inside the parcels from terrorists exploded inside and outside of the parcel reception office near the prison gate at 9:40 am and it killed three prison staff and five visitors who delivered the parcels to the prisoners, and another 18 including five prison staff and 13 civilians were wounded.
Then, the Union minister met and comforted families of deceased and injured prison staff and provided cash assistance. He then presided over a meeting on security issues and instructed necessary measures based on the reports of prison officials.
In the evening, the Union minister and party went to Insein General Hospital and comforted the injured prison staff and people, and also provided necessary assistance. — MNA
