MoHT Union Minister discusses tourism-related matters

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn chairs the MoHT corrdination meeting to discuss tourism revival on 17 March 2021.

Union Minister for the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn held a coordination meeting with relevant staff officers yesterday.
During the meeting, the Union Minister discussed the creation of safe trips or recreational processes for the people in the post-COVID-19 pandemic, which is the focus of the State Administration Council Chairman, prioritization of domestic tours to Bagan-Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin-Ngapali-Chaung Tha and Ngwe Saung and plans to ease travel restrictions in line with the COVID-19 health rules.
He continued that the ministry also received directives to reopen the hotels and revive the tourism sector. The inspections will be conducted in reopening the hotels in line with the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocols.
The Union Minister also said arrangements are being made with the relevant ministries to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to the hotel staff.
He also instructed the departments’ heads to manage the junior staff to serve duties according to the Civil Service regulations and be free from party politics.
He stressed the need to cooperate to accelerate the tourism development programmes as per the ministry’s policy and procedures.
Then, the attendees to the meeting coordinated the meeting by presenting their work plans. — MNA
