MoI UM greets Academy Award receptionists, inspects printing work

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspects the site for building Sarso Beikman in Mingala Taungnyunt Township yesterday.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn greeted the receptionists selected for the 2023 Myanmar Academy Awards event at the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization office yesterday. He observed the rehearsals conducted by the receptionists and encouraged the young individuals to strive for excellence in the artistic realm. Additionally, he delivered a lecture advising them against adopting the arrogance exhibited by some artistes, emphasizing the importance of adhering to laws and contributing to the country’s service.
Afterwards, the Union minister visited the Photolitho Printing Press on Ngar Htat Kyee Pagoda Road in Bahan Township to inspect textbook printing. The factory manager and the director-general of the Printing and Publishing Department briefed him on the operational status. The Union minister then discussed the importance of maintaining quality and ensuring timely deliveries.
He then visited the land plot designated for a Sarso Beikman (pantheon) in Uyin Ward, Mingala Taungnyunt Township. The Director-General of the Printing and Publishing Department clarified the design of building and the area of the land. The Union Minister advised collaboration with relevant departments to ensure the timely construction of the project in accord with the guidance of the Head of State and implement the project as quickly as possible in cooperation with relevant ministries.
Myanmar will sign an agreement with Indian government for construction of three-storey RC Sarso Beikman soon, and the estimated cost for project will be K7,918.833 million. — MNA/NT
