MoNREC Union Minister inspects furniture factories, Gems & Jewellery Museum in Yangon

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi views production of furniture at Diamond Mercury Wood Products Factory in Shwepyitha Township on 12 June.

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi visited Sima Furniture Production Factory and inspected the production lines in the factory yesterday.
Officials briefed the Union Minister on the production, distribution and market conditions of the furniture.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the stages of furniture production and instructed officials to export the products for meeting not only domestic demand but also foreign markets by increasing the production of high quality furniture products.
Next, the Union Minister visited Diamond Mercury Wood Products Factory in Shwepyitha Township and briefed the officials on the operation of the factory briefing hall and the Union Minister coordinated the necessary work.
Afterwards, the Union Minister inspected the production of high-value finished wooden doors and frames using teak poles from the plantations.
In meeting with officials at the office of the Department of Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration in North Okkalapa Township, the Union minister called for more advanced human resource development technology and testing equipment, strategic mining plus exploration of potential ores in the field of high-tech mineral ores and feasibility study processes.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the laboratory tests of mineral samples sent from the field areas in the mineral laboratories.
Next, the Union Minister visited the Gems and Jewellery Museum in Mayangon Township.
Officials briefed the Union minister on information and museum maintenance.—MNA
